Frye
Frye boots represent a piece of American culture. It is the oldest continually operated shoe company in the United States, as soldiers wore the boots during the Civil War. In fact, the company supplied boots to US troops through World War II. Even General Patton wore Fryes.
In the 1960s and 70s, the brand became popular among the masses with the introduction of the Campus Boot and its chunky heel and bulky toe. It was such a sensation the Smithsonian has a pair of Frye’s on display as a pop culture item representing the period. Today the Harness Boot is the most coveted style.
In addition to persistently strong US sales, European and Asian demand quickly grew after the company’s Harness Boot was prominently featured in international fashion spreads. Currently, the Frye brand is highly desirable and a growing trend among celebrities. But the Frye collection extends beyond its high quality original and western style boots. The company also makes superior leather clogs, mules, sandals and handbags.
