Matt & Nat is a completely unique and innovative label. The brand’s trademark is its completely vegan line of handbags, meaning no material is derived from animals. Instead, all of its bags are made of the highest-quality synthetic leathers. The materials look like and feel like genuine leather.

The idea for a vegan line of bags was sprung from founder Inder Bendi, who was just 24 when he launched Matt & Natt in 1997. His choice for being animal cruelty-free is based on the premise that, “every living thing should be treated with kindness and dignity.” His philosophy extends beyond animal rights to include environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, and ensuring the rights and working conditions of all employees.

If you’re wondering, there is no “Matt & Nat.” Instead, the name relates to the male/female or yin and yang balance that is so influential in Bendi’s life. In addition to a cell phone pocket, an inner zipper pocket and detachable keychain, each of the label’s bags carries the company’s positivity message stamped on the lining.
